Oh What A Night!
While chatting, I was playing a few games. Starting with an SnG for $5 on Full Tilt. I came in 4th so made a whole $3.75.
At the same time, I played in two 4 person HU matches for 5.25. So that brought in another $29.50. During this match, I got the chance to play Maudie Heads Up. Lucky for me, I hit a nut flush when she had pocket sixes. The flop came with only one over, so she bet into me. I went all-in. She called. So that was her introduction to the Poison. We were both on Skype at the time, which made it all the more enjoyable. Maudie, we need to do it again, when I am the one on tequilla...that's the only fair thing to do! Duggle also tried to take me out but failed.
Then we played a little Razz together. I even won there almost $5.
It would have been a perfect night if it were not for Dreamy. I think I might be his favorite fish or something. He sends me a message on IM inviting me to Titan. I told him I only had $2 on Titan. That was good enough for him. Take what he could get out of me I guess. He had $7. I'm sure he will turn it into some amazing about within a few days. So I played him a Heads Up match. He kicked my butt.
On the HUC3 front, the round 2 matches are wrapping up. The last of them should finish tomorrow night.
And DADI5 has been annouced! Jordan and Tripjax do a fantastic job of putting these events together. I think I have a much better appreciation for their efforts now. So check it out.
At the moment, I'm trying the grinding thing on limit.....Worth a shot...
Ended up .75 ahead at limit for a 30 minutes session.

Cravings...
But what do I love to play? Heads Up of course, which is almost a break even affair for me, but completely enjoyable. MTTs, love them. It's all Waffle's fault, before meeting him, I thought that MTTs were a big lotto game. At the time he had scored a few final tables in a period of a couple of weeks and I thought, hmm, maybe it is not all luck afterall. But even when I do good and make the money, overall it has been a big drain to my roll.
But what is my all time favorite game? NL cash ring games. So tonight, I actually fell asleep when I put the kids to bed. In the middle of the night I wake up with a craving for poker. I open up Full Tilt and sit down at the NL cash game. I play for bit and am up a little when the following happens:

Cherry on Top!
And I know someone asked me to go easy on Iggy cause it's his first time. But Veneno doesn't do easy. I can assure you, he will enjoy it anyway...
And, I still need to reschedule a little one on one with the Drunken Retard. Although I'm concerned he might be better prepared after a weekend with the Playmates.
The really cool thing about organizing the HUC3 is that I'm getting lots of HU offers. And don't think for a minute that I'm not eatting it up.
A few of the HUC3 Competitors have made it unto the Veneno HU chart. Some have discovered why I am the Poison, others have been able to counter my powers, and some have figured out that I might just know a thing or two about the game. Sorry I haven't posted about all my matches. Just take a look at my growing HU chart if you wanna see who has met with the Poison.
Tonight Hoyazo had his opportunity to meet with the Poison. Unfortunately for him, he tried to outplay the me. He slow played his 88 by limping in preflop. I raised to 60 (bb was 20). He then raised to 240, at which time I went all-in with my KK. And that was the end of it. What helped in this match was that a few hands earlier, when I bet 60, he raised to 240, and I folded. It is very helpful in HU to establish patterns, so that you can use them later to your advantage. This time it worked out perfectly. It was a good match Hoyazo! Thanks for the invitation.
So if you haven't made it on the Veneno HU Chart, what are you waiting for? Just let me know you are interested and it can be arranged.
Oh boy..I finally read Flux's recent posting. He gives you a full history of one of our matches. So if you want some insight into my game. Check it out. Let me know what you think.

Lessons Learned
While making my commute, I started up my yahoo IM. Okay..not the smartest thing to do...but that is what I do sometimes. I find AlCantHang on and send him a message. He didn't get to warm me up for the HUC as planned. I'm sure he will make up for it another time. He tells me all about his weekend plams and him and a few other getting to go the Playboy Mansion. Well isn't that special.
As for warm up matches, fortunately, I had Surflexus and DuggleBogey to get me ready for this event. For those who may have confused Surflexus with Fluxer, this was our first HU match. Suflexus finally met with my Poison and lost on his first encounter. Duggle on the other hand was better prepared for me on this meeting and didn't get me get away with my usual tricks. We are now tied.
The first group of competitors started their matches at 4 pm EST on Full Tilt. They discovered that the format was not correct. Instead of a Heads Up Match, it was a freeze out. I got a call from WeakPlayer, sometime after 4 pm to tell me what was happening. And an IM message from Ingoal. Well, needless to say, I was utterly disappointed.
What to do now? I could not access email from work (against the rules), but I had my cell phone with email access. Such a pain to use, typing on a cell phone key pad is a royal pain. And I had to be quick because remember, I was working. So I sent an email to Full Tilt asking for help.
I just kept thinking that things were doomed. How could I count on Full Tilt to fix everything in time. The players needed to be informed. So with great dismay, I resigned myself to the fact that things were not gonna work as planned. The event would have to be postponed. That was soooo hard to decide. I had planned, worked, and been so excited for this event. Very disappointing!!!
So I asked WeakPlayer to send out the word via email.
Later during the day, Weak called me to say he heard that Full Tilt had fixed things. I checked my email. But it just said they were confused. I sent out a last response to Full Tilt attempting to explain in abbreviated text what was needed.
And guess what? They did it. I was amazed. It was down to the wire, but Full Tilt came though. I must compliment them on their great service throughout this event. They have been responsive and helpful in everyway. In comparison to many of my experiences with online ow most online poker site support they were fantastic. I must say I have been very impressed. But it was less than an hour before the next set of mathces were to begin.
WeakPlayer was such a great help. He took care of all the communications during this ordeal. Thank you soooooooooo much!!! I know..you need cookies...cookies...I must bake some cookies. So he sent out the word. And the first round of players made it to their games 100%.
We were not so fortunate for the next group. In order to fill up a few of the tables, we had to scramble and use some of our players from the 4 pm slot who never got to play their official match.
But in spite of it all, we managed to get everyone hooked up. It was a lot of fun. We had a full chat room going on Yahoo IM. Make sure and check the HUC sit for an update of the winners from the first round. Only one group of 4 players remains. So we will work on getting them together.
As fate would have it, I got matched up with one of my all time favorite bloggers, the original HUC Commissioner, the one and only High on Poker, Jordan. It was not one of my better games. He ended up losing to L'ariste in the second match. But on the upside, he won the Veneno bounty and gets to rename my blog for one week.
We also had a nice group playing in the HUC Lounge game. I managed to make to major blunders by folding hands that I intended to play when I clicked the wrong button. One of the pittfalls of my switching between chat and my table. I folded a nut flush against BoobieLover, then I folded a A Q when I reraised Hammerplayer preflop and guess what he had? You got it the hammer. Ouch. I had the pictures posted but they were messing up my pages.
In managed to hang on and bust out 5th, two spots from the money. I lost a race with 55 vs KQ.
I got a chance to meet and play with some new bloggers. And had a great time!
So what did I learn?
1. Poker bloggers are an awesome group of people. Almost everyone was supportive and cooperative when things were changed around and rearranged. Thanks everyone!
2. Full Tilt is great. I will definitely think of this site first when planning any events. They were helpful and responsive.
3. I should have found a way to check the table format before hand. Perhaps setting up a test table a few nights before to make sure everything is in order. Not sure.
4. As my mentor Jordan has explained. Just tell people what to do. You can't please everyone, so don't try.
Now for some poker....

Where has my Poison Gone?
I have been getting my ... handed to me lately on the HU matches.
Tonight I went to battle with Boobie Lover and went 0 for 2. And he was the one who sucked out on me the first match. The second we almost went to 100 hands. Both excellent matches. So Boobie gets on my chart. Congrats Wes!
I have also recently lost a match to Sox, a couple to SteelerJosh (at least I'm still in the lead vs these guys), and 2 matches to Trauma who has taken my down for a total of 5 matches. I can't beat that boy!!!!!!
I even lost to a player named iwind, a young cutie from Norway, who was reading the HUC3 and found me on IM to play a match.
The only match I managed to win was with Katitude. And that was a long 112 hand battle!!! Perhaps I need to stick with Catfights..hmmmm
I just realized. The poker goddess has not been getting her eye candy from me. That must be the problem. Okay..I'm gonna get it together. Soon before the HUC3.
If you haven't taken a look at the HUC3 site lately, you must check it out. We are getting a great response of blurbs about the players.
Al, I'm not sure I can handle you anymore...

Happy Birthday Julia!!!
She is pretty amazing! I'm very proud.
Yesterday we had her birthday party which turned out great. She had 5 girls from her class. Since she attends a Christian school that was almost all the girls in the class. And best of all her teacher came to the celebration. So needless to say, it was a big success!
On her last progress report, her teacher wrote:
Julia is the sweetest girl in the world - And a straight "A" student. Wow - I'm blessed to be her teacher.
Doesn't get much better than that!
Happy Birthday my Angel.....
Feel free to send my little one a special birthday wish. She will love it!

Competitors have been announced...
Thanks to all of the bloggers who pimped this event! You are awesome!
The fun all starts this Thursday at March 23rd.
Even if you didn't get in on the one on one action, this will be a fun event to watch. You might even want to get some side action going. I'm already lining up some side matches. And if you like, post your one on one matches to the HUC site. And if you haven't started playing Heads Up and need someone to train you, come to my school of Poison, it's a challenging yet pleasurable experience...I already got Mow to sign-up!
As a kick off to the whole even, AlCantHang, has agreed to warm me up! It's Heads Up Goddess vs the Drunken Retard (his words not mine). Don't wanna miss this event. I just need to tell him when...not nice to keep a drunken retard waiting I know, but life is getting in the way. Plus, I agreed to drink for this event (bad idea i know). I mean, playing a drunken retard already makes me nervous. I'm sure this will be a mistake in some fashion, even if I do manage to win. But he did offer a nice incentive....
This weekend my daughter is turning 8. So this is the birthday weekend. Lots to do..
Hasta Luego....

One on One Action! Join the fun!
We are filling up the 2nd group. Terrrrrrrrrriiiifffiiccccccccccccccccc!!!!! Once we get the final 6 spots filled, I will send out an email to all with instructions.
I'm really excited about this event. It is of course my first time as the Commish and I am loving all of the great response. We haven't even gotten to the good stuff. The bounties the side bets......
Let me start the first bounty offering to appeal to those who are still on the fence. The winner of the event can have naming rights or a replacement banner for my blog. This is the first time that I have offerred up this incentive, so don't expect it to be customary. If you want a shot at this opportunity, sign-up now, while there are still openings.
Hasta luego....
Only 7 Spots to Go
Doh..typed the link wrong..on last posting..it's fixed now.
Don't miss it!!
We are filling up the next group of 16, so if you want to play be sure and sign-up soon. It is sure to be lots of fun.

Heads Up Competitors have been Selected
We have our defending champ TraumaPoker, the respected DoubleAs, the infamous Jordan, our HUC1 champ TripJax, 3 ladies and some fresh blogger blood like Smokee, and many other excellent players. Go to the link above for the full list.
If you are still interested in this event, we would like to get another 15 players in order to have 2 groups of 16. The winners from these 2 groups can do battle in one final ultimate championship match.
Instead of regional groups, why don't we vote for two captains. Then have a HU draft by the captains for group selection. I was thinking it would be soooo cool to have Iggy join and be one of the captains. If you like that idea, send him an email.
In any case, spread the word. We still have time to get the additional sign-ups. Let's get more representation from our ROW friends and from the West Coast!!!

Attention Heads Up Maniacs!!!
It is possible with enough interest, we can get 32 people to join. Then we can do the whole East vs. West concept or something like that. So if you have any interest, please get your name on the board.
Also, if the date and times available do not suit your schedule, please let me know and as long as we can get a group of 4 for another date and time within the same week, it can be arranged.
This looks to be a fun one! So don't be left out.....
Jordan is working on a banner. I had to veto the first version. Actually told him I would quit if he posted it. The theme is "One on one" action. The problem was he had a picture of two guys together...ugggggghhhhh!!!!!!!!
Okay get on the link below and sign up.
On a not so fabulous note, SteelerJosh finally found the antidote for my poison. In 3 matches, he won the first 2. In our second match he laid the hammer on me. Made a straight with his 7. At least I won our final match. He could not take the lead on me. That would just be wrong!!!

Let's Make a Date
Open for suggestions to the HUC..
Who is interested?
Do you like the idea of kicking it off with the 4 person matches on Stars?
Once I get some feedback, I will post the official plan and take on sign-ups..
Happy Birthday Sirfwalgman!
It figures that Waffles would have a birthday when I'm trying to stay mad at him.
In case you didn't hear yet, the Catfight is over. Take a guesss who won that? It was a pleasure to do battle with Katitude. Her spunk in the chatroom was the highlight.
The best part is the Waffleman now has to do battle with the Suckout Goddess (yeah I don't mind claiming that title...still a Goddess right?) He thinks my head has swollen and he will be the one to keep me in check. I doubt it..lol. In any case, his first attempt has failed.
I can't wait for my victory poem!!!!!!!!
For the rest of you, if you are interested in Heads Up play, I will be coordinating our next Heads Up Challenge. I would like to get a feel for just how many of you would be interested in joining.
One of the thoughts I had for the initial round was to set up private tournaments for participants on Poker Stars with a buy-in of $10 + 1. Once a player won one of these matches they would make the next round. The losers would play a second round in an attempt to move on. We would need 8 or 16 players for round two. From that point, the usual best 2 of 3 structure could begin. The winners would be able to use the profit from the round one matches to make their contribution to the prize fund for the challenge. Your thoughts?
I'm thinking of Friday, March 17th as the kick-off night with the round one of Heads Up matches.
In any case, I think all of the prize money should be collected up front.
I will keep working on the rules and details.
So for now, just give let me know if you are interested in participating. Send me your contact information at yosoyveneno@yahoo.com.
Have a good day all....

SirOldMan Tilt Fest Moved to Stars
Spicy Offerings for the Poker Goddess
But then it occurred to me. This is the Poker Goddess. No ordinary Goddess. She thrives in sin city. What would appeal to her? Spice and variety perhaps?
Poker Goddess...just for you today....enjoy
I would appreciate your help again in my Catfight tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST on Full Tilt.
Love, V
In preparation for this event, I was able to enjoy doing battle with my newest quest none other than DuggleBoggey. In our first two matches he learned just why I have earned my title as the Poison (a.k.a. Suckout Goddess). For our last match he was not opposed to taking advantage of me in a tequilla induced handicapped state. I so do not blame him.
As for Soxy, he still has not had enough punishment. I had to show him yesterday that my suckout powers are still in tact when I called his all-in bet after the flop with top pair (Queens with a 3 kick) vs my flush draw and K. I hit the K and sent him on his way. He tried, unsuccessfully, to entice me into a $100 heads up match. But I was quite content to keep the $5 profit.
I did have one of the best times in the chat yesterday with the blogger crowd Garth (this guy can drink!), Gary, Kat, Waffles, Surflexus, Flux (non-drinker - wonder if he was amused?), Sox, Weak (he didn't need alcohol), Jordan (joined us early on but had to go out so didn't get to enjoy the whole affair with us), Duggle, Mow, and DoubleAs. It was a total drink fest. I was doing shots of Last Mango, a mix of tequilla and mango liqueur (yummy!). I was feeling pretty darn good for most of the time. But after finishing half the bottle in a couple of hours, I ended worshipping the Porcelin Goddess. Been a long time since that happened. But no regrets.
Finally, be sure to join us for SirOldMan's Tilt Fest on Full Tilt tonight at 8:30 p.m. EST. Yeah, Waffles is having a Birthday! Just do a search for YoSoyVeneno for an easy way to find it. Password: WafflesRocks

Shameless
Anyway, there was no where for him to part so he pulls into the the hotel Valet area which was full. Parks the car. Then as he is walking towards the hotel, the Valet stops him and tells him he has to move his car. At this point he is upset. Keep in mind, ElWappo is not a man with a great deal of patience. I can totally imagine his state of frustration. As he is walking away the Valet stops him yet again. ElWappo is thinking, "What does this guy want now?" The Valet then ask him whether he is a fighter. ElWappo said, "Yes". At the time, ElWappo had on a t-shirt which read "Full Contact Fighter" on the front and "Undefeated in Full Contact Matches". ElWappo is a 5'9" good looking hispanic man with a big chest, wide shoulders, big arm muscles, and a nice..umm backside. So then the Valet ask him, "Do you fight in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship)." Here is where the lying begins. ElWappo says, "Yes, my cousin is Rico Rodriguez, and I fight for team Punishment". Team Punishment is a Huntington Beach based MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) professional fighting team with members such as Tito Ortiz and Rico Rodriguez (both former UFC champions). The closest ElWappo has been to the UFC is to spar with professional fighters from his gym, "New Breed Academy" and "BJJ Revolution Team". So anyway, after that the Valet volunteers to watch his car while he gets his tickets. When he gets back to the car, the Valet pulls out a dollar and a sharpie and ask him for an autograph. The shameless ElWappo complies and signs the bill. Unbelievable. What some people will do to get parking in Los Angeles!!!

My first WWDN
But on a good note, I got to chill with my pals and have a good time in another blogger event.
For a nice start, I get seated with two of my favortie bloggers, Waffles and Gary.
I chip up early with an AJ. Then I decide, why don't I live blog.
8:37 p.m. I fail to suckout on Waffles. I get a OESD on the flop with 8 T sooted. Waffles makes a couple of pot bets, I call because I can either take all Waffles chips or donate to him.
8:39 p.m A 7 h, I call for $60 to see a flop. Nothing hits so I need to fold.
- Sox in the chat commenting that he hopes I will bust so he will not face my suckout powers.
8:42 p.m. I fold the hammer. Sick I know. But there was a bet 3x bb.
8:43 p.m. Waffles comes in 2nd in the $10 sng he started before the WWDN. He lost with QQ to 67c that hits a straight flush.
8:45 p.m. I win a small pot with A 7 sooted.
8:49 p.m. Surflexus joins our table. Gary wins a pot vs Surflux AK vs AJ.
8:59 p.m. Dropping the hamma!!!

9:10 p.m. Davee leaves the chat room to go out on a friday night in Australia. After he told some bogus story about beening fat, weighing 300lbs., and having a poor self-esteem. Of course, I knew he was full of it.
9:15 p.m. I bet the pot when the board shows [7h 8c 3c] [3d] on the turn with my 22. It was checked on the flop. BigPokerWin lays down and I win.

9:26 p.m. I get lucky when I call with pair of Ks and 7 kick to L0k1's with KJ. The board pairs and has an A, so I split.
